Review: Havaianas from Flipflopshop.co.uk

It’s finally good weather here in Northern Ireland! We are off on our first little weekend away with Harry and Ella tomorrow. We are heading for our caravan in Ballycastle and can’t wait. It’s been really hot and sunny for the past few days and I really hope it stays that way for the weekend.

I haven’t had much time to shop for summer items yet so when Flip Flop Shop kindly contacted me and asked if I would like to review a pair of flip flops I jumped at the chance.

I chose the Havaianas in navy with a hot pink strap. I love flip flops and have lots of pairs but these are my first Havaianas. I chose the navy colour because I thought it would go with jeans as well as more summery dresses and shorts. I love the hot pink strap – my favourite colour! They are really comfy and mould to my feet really well. I have heard from friends that these are by far the most hard wearing flip flops so I will probably have them for ages.

Flip Flop Shop have a massive selection to choose from including brands like Havaianas, Quiksilver, Birkenstock, Animal, Roxy, Fit Flop and Reef. They offer free shipping and free returns and are priced really reasonably.

Now I am going to get packing for our weekend away – soooooo much more stuff to pack these days with wee Harry in tow!

Five Latest Loves #7 – GBBO, Make Up and Flip Flops included!

Summer is drawing to a close and there is a definite chill in the air. I am hoping for a hot September though – that would make up for a below par August we have just had. Although I love summer, Autumn does have it’s benefits, and I am quite looking forward to cosy nights in and the start of X Factor! I still love it!

Here’s my Five Latest Loves for this week!

The Great British Bake Off

Not very original I know. Like millions of others, I have watched every series of Bake Off and always look forward to it coming back on. Wednesday night’s episode was surprisingly dramatic, and the only Northern Irish contestant was sent home under controversial circumstances! I personally felt a bit sorry for Iain but when I checked it out on Twitter, Sue Perkins had commented that the show had been edited slightly to make it appear that Iain’s ice cream was out of the freezer for ages, when in fact it was about 40 seconds. Good TV though. I think I want Richard to win, but I do love Norman!

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush

I have been using this brush for a few days now to apply my foundation, and so far I love it! It’s a really firm and dense brush and is excellent for blending cream or liquid foundation evenly. I am a big fan and am glad I have made the switch from sponge to brush. I also love the Real Techniques Blush Brush – such good quality and brilliant for building up colour and blending.

iPANEMA Flip Flops

I was kindly sent these lovely white flip flops by iPANEMA in Beach White last week. Unfortunately the weather here in Northern Ireland hasn’t been the greatest for the past few weeks, and I don’t have any more holidays abroad planned, so instead I have been wearing these incredibly comfortable flip flops around the house, as it’s still not quite cold enough for slippers! They are so soft and spongy to wear and sort of mould to my feet when I put them on. They seem really durable so will I will definitely be bringing them on my next beach holiday! iPANEMA currently have a great range to choose from if you fancy checking it out! Size wise I got a size bigger than normal as I always find flip flops slightly smaller than other shoes. Mine are a size 5.

Max Factor Masterpiece Max Mascara

This isn’t really a latest love, as I’ve used it for years, but when my last tube ran out I bought a different brand, and it just didn’t match up. So I’m back on this excellent product from Max Factor in Brown/Black. It lengthens and thickens my lashes and NEVER clumps no matter how much I apply. It is honestly the best mascara I have ever used. Highly recommended!

Family get-togethers

I am spending this weekend in Ballycastle (again) with my extended family to celebrate my Uncle’s 50th Birthday. I love it when we all get together and really enjoy catching up with everyone. There is always loads of food so I’m looking forward to that too!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

ASOS Wishlist for Summer

Do you ever spend HOURS looking through the pages of ASOS? I do. I didn’t used to like shopping for clothes online; always wanting to try things on before buying. But I think as I’ve gotten older I know what suits my body type, and the ‘View Catwalk’ option on ASOS is so helpful when deciding what to go for.

This is what’s in my online shopping basket at the moment:

asos wishlist - dresses, shirts, bags, shoes Clockwise from the top left:

ASOS Peggy Pointed Heels:  I really love the mint colour of these shoes, and I think they would look great with dark skinny jeans or a summery navy or white dress. They don’t look that comfy to wear though.

Marc B Lucy Clutch: This navy clutch is a decent size and would go with all of the items I’ve got my eye on. It looks like it’s nice and soft and fits quite a bit inside. Would work dressy or casual!

ASOS Skater Dress with Slash Neck and Short Sleeves: This pink skater dress is something very typical that I would wear, it suits my body type and is dressy yet comfortable. Would be lovely for going out for dinner – any time of the year really!

ASOS Boyfriend Shirt in Stripe:  A lovely cotton mix shirt which could be thrown on over a dress, or a top and shorts. Would also be lovely tucked into a skirt or  worn with skinny jeans when it’s not quite warm enough for bare arms. The blue and white stripe would look great with a tan.

Only Floral Print Cami: This is a bargain at just £10 and would be perfect for summer or for when the weather is nice here in Northern Ireland! Just add flip flops, beach bag and sun hat and you’re good to go!

ASOS Blouse with Plaiting Detail Panels: This blouse is gorgeous. No, it’s not overly summery with the long sleeves, but then again it’s not exactly red hot in the U.K is it? It comes in cream and pink and looks great with a skirt or jeans.

ASOS Skater Dress in Textured Bird Print: Beautiful summer dress that would look great with a tan and is perfect for going out for dinner or to a friend’s house for drinks. Easy and comfortable style to wear yet very flattering.

ASOS Skater Dress in Texture with Bow Front:  This easy to wear dress comes in white or mint green and is really summery. I don’t like anything clingy around my stomach and this looks like it sits really nicely without clinging to that area. Can you tell by now that I like skater dresses??

Anyway I’m now going to go sit in the garden – it’s a lovely sunny Saturday here. This little girl got her summer haircut today. Not sure she’s entirely happy with it…:)

Have a great weekend!
